Need some inspiration in your life? Life for many people isn't the dream they envisage, however for a small handful of the population, life is one big adventure with everything that is desired, within their grasp.

I know this due to finding and signing upto to arc of truth, i was so impressed I even added some rss comments from the Arc site. Over the last month or so, I've watched the site take shape, initially it was a blog and now new pages have appeared including links to facebook and powerful intentions profiles even a trailer, and this site brings a smile to my face, and its truly inspiring.

Xbox 360 won't power up, but a simple fix

It was generally a cool day yesterday, everything going well like a finely tuned engine, anyway a friend from my previous ermmm job, well the Tesco of websites if you want to call that a job let alone a career. Well my mate appeared and decided it was time to have a guitar off on Guitar Hero 3, started the xbox 360, but the cable from the Gibson Flying V wouldn't reach, also the top USB (Universal serial bus) on the front had decided to to come a drift, kind of lost the plastic that holds the pins in tact, therefore we opted for the USB port on the back. Had a quick glance at the front joypad USB, by removing the face plate. Then we moved the Microsoft console, as you do. We removed the disc and cable and moved it maybe a foot.

Simple solution, well yes until we pressed the on button, nothing. We were not going to expereincing Guitar hero 3 anytime soon. No problem we thought, little did we know. We removed the cables gave them a blow and generally straightened the cables, Matt's idea, still nothing. It was then trouble shooting. To summarize we removed the Face plate, removed the 360 game, plugged a guitar in the back USB port and unplugged the cables.

I gave up after becoming quite perplexed, checked the internet various sites e.g. Xbox.com and IGN.com to mention a few, a lot on the three rings of death, Iv'e already suffered from this and was very pleased with Microsoft's resolution, of repairing my 360 console and extending the warranty for hardware failure. Anyway back to seaching the web, I found a few extremely annoyed gamers on yahoo answers. However no fix, I then thought if I had a disc in the game machine, how would I get it out, I found a few helpful sites which explained the console came with three types of optical dvd drive, Hitachi, Samsung and Benq. All had distinguishing characteristics, this guide then told you which hole to put your paperclip in to manually eject the the 360's game disc tray.

I found mine was the the second hole from the left, my friend Gemma then spent five or so mins jabbing the lever to turn the gears to eject the drive, and hey presto it popped open. I then had this drive to turn the console on and it burst into life.

I think the drive had shut wrong or jammed which had then somehow told the xbox 360 not to start up. Oh well its fixed and I'm over the moon.

Leadership need tips? Steven Sonsino

Last Tuesday I was treated to a truly inspiring speech from a Leadership professor, Steven Sonsino. Steven is a fellow of the London Business School, LBS for short. The speech given lifted the whole audience of International Finance Directors from their post lunch slum. I since found out that Professor Sonsino is all over Google, having authored books to inspired the likes of Microsoft and the Dubai development company Nakheel famed for their 'The World and Palm Tree develoments in the UAE. Steven's speech inspired me in ways I thought weren't possible including creating your own leadership style a brand for yourself if you will, new strategies to me.
While searching the net I found an up and coming Leadership seminar in Dubai, the Leadership Masterclass, there is no doubt in my mind I will be attending, check it out.
I may even sign up for one of his coaching programs, if he dazzles me in the sameway as Tuesday.

Nature and the world of Badgers in the Lakes

While relaxing recently in a local Arnside pub, I bumped into a friend of mine who is very fond of nature whethers its the bird hides at Leighton Moss or Badger sets in the Ribble Valley, more on that later.

I to love nature, this being one of the reasons myself and my wife Valerie moved into a Silverdale property. I soon found the Silverdale area and the surrounding villages Arnside, Warton and Yealand offered some of the most beautiful scenery I had seen for a long time.

This reminded of how I had been taken to see a badger set in the Ribble Valley recently. A real thrill is the only way I can explain it, I had not seen Badger families since I was young lad. We arrived at dusk and settled down in a purpose built hide for a long evening. After about 20 minutes of enjoying the scenery, there was a stir in the hide as two badger heads appeared, followed by two more adults and two cubs.

I was telling my friend about the fun that we had during the evening watching the scuffling and general playfulness of the badgers as they discovered the peanuts that had been scattered about. We then chatted about the richness of nature in the area where we live, Morecambe Bay. The real beauty us owning property in Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale well the area.

He commented that this part of Lancashire and Cumbria had a specialist estate agent, well more of a Property Specialist aptly named Green2Blue Properties. The gentleman Peter Vreede who runs G2B focusses on selling houses in the area with a personal approach, even his company reflects this with a tag line of ‘A6 to the Bay’ his website is Green2Blue.co.uk. Hopefully this unique approach will draw people to look more carefully at settling in the area and taking advantage of this nature haven.

Our pints long gone we went on our way, happy in our shared conviction that nature can bind people together in many different ways.

Stripe has landed

Ever had such a difficult decision granted there are many from choosing what type of biking you want to get mountain, dowhill or maybe endurance or what car you want to buy a saloon a sports car. Well back to my point, I'm basically saying if you make the wrong decision it will haunt you for many years to come like whether to buy a Porsche, either the 911 Turbo or the 959, well I have just made one of those and I made the right decision. Today I collected my new kitten, formerly Gizmo, now in the spirit of Gremlins, named Stripe. He was born on November 23rd on the outskirts of the Lake District in silverdale, a mountain biking haven.

Stripe is the son of Bonnie and nephew of Trinny, two Bengal / Siamese cats, and loved by Alex, Michael, Tyla and Billy and now the latest edition to Fat Planet family along with Jess, Annabelle and myself.
Stripe has chilled since finding my sofa, hissed at Jess and now fallen asleep and he really doesn't seem keen on Felix cat milk. I leave him now sleeping soundly with his microwable Giraffe and roaring fire.

Pubs come and go, well their landlords and reputation, yet there is sanctuary

Well, where do I start, I live where there is no central place where local pubs can be reviewed or compared, and a really poor pub doesn't come to mind. Of course, there is a slow turnover of landlords and so the quality and style of the beer and other alcoholic drinks stocked and not forgetting the food served can fluctuate. This makes talking to your neighbours such fun and it's comparisons here and comparisons there much like choosing to buy a car over another and how this pub was good last year compared to 10 years ago, but due to (fill in the best reason that comes to mind) it seems the trusted drinking house has lost the plot. There is a game thats means discovering a pub that is good or seems to be turning a quality corner and telling your friends. However, this can be quite hazardous and that later when your friends visit said pub on your recommendation they didn't experience the good food, good service, and range of great beers that you experienced or maybe there was just no fire in the hearth.

Mindyou there is sanctuary, in a very special and generally undiscovered pub The Woodlands Hotel Silverdale in Lancashire. It sits high on the hill backing into Eaves Wood and has spectacular views to the south over Morecambe Bay. It is best known for its wide range of draught beers that are kept in a cool room behind the bar and at really low prices. It is also well known to be friendly and many local folk use it as a meeting place to pass the time of day in pleasant surroundings.
I can be found sampling the beer on offer on warm evenings in the summer after a great day managing Green2Blue Properties. The walk to the pub, full of expectation and the walk home full of pleasant thoughts about this wonderful area cannot be surpassed. Ebay cars

Why is it people have the habit of bending the truth on ebay, I recently have been looking at buying a Mk1 Golf ideally with a 16v engine. However, I am having trouble it seems every car I see seems to be in good nick on the pictures and by the description, but whne you have travelled the 200 or so miles to view, the only similarity is the colour and the number plate, this latest VW Golf 16v as stated solid, well not really, rotten in the majority of the panels including the rear arches, chassis was rusted through in parts and the CV had gone as well as the engine looking somewhat more troublesome than a small electrical fault, like the addition of a new TSR loom, so I say beware and check this car buying guide i found at planetauto.co.uk.

Birds and contentment in Eaves wood

Last week I went for a walk through Eaves Wood in Silverdale, Lancashire part of the Arnside & District Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I met a friend, a man on a mission. He was counting how many different species of birds he could see in a four hour walk. He is a great supporter of the RSPB Leighton Moss bird sanctuary and is locally our most knowledgeable naturalist. He had covered many miles that day and had counted 53 different species of birds and managed to get a sight of both males and females.
As we walked along slowly, listening to the birdcalls and looking out for specific species that he had not yet spotted, he remarked that to live in the area of Silverdale, Milnthorpe and Arnside was one of life’s real privileges.
The quality of life for him could not be higher and he was forever grateful that he had chosen this rather undiscovered area to retire. I commented that I felt the same and that is why Green2Blue Properties could help people find a really lovely home in the country or in a small village in the district. At that point we said good-bye as he carried on up the hill on his quest and I went home happy to have met such a contented man.

Hello there! Is this not the most divine shoe??? Yes, I thought you would agree! I have been shopping (not willingly, I assure you!) for the up and coming event of one of my best friend's wedding. Maria is getting married in April, and the colour scheme for the bridesmaids' shoes is silver. After much searching in vain, my friend Gemma suggested looking on As Seen On Screen, a funky little website that hosts products that you see on lots of lovely famous people! Mountain biker V's Hiker

When ever my team of mountain biking buddies choose to scale a Lake District peak or ride a mountain pass, we are always, well not always but sometimes hindered by a range of hikers, donning their boots, Goretex clothes and tucked in socks. This wouldn't be an issue, but as we know erosion on mountains is caused by the 100's of thousands of walkers that use the same route on hillsides and carve routes into the landscape. If thats the case why is MTB riders are scowled at and told to get off and stop destroying our environment. Also if you think that's bad two of my less abled fourcross riders, who need a quad to tow there fourcross bikes to routes have recently been stopped by a Lake District farmer, whats that all about?
